“Store front theatre”, “dinner theatre”, “multi media integration”, “cabaret style”... all are phrases describing TriUS Production's inaugeral production, Songs for a New World. A new theatrical space, a new company, a new production, new media integration, a video program, dinner theatre...the political pundits are all touting change so why not our entertainment community? Each of these concepts are not unbeknownst to any, but used all together in one production? Well, we just don't think it's happened in Wilmington till now. The producers of TriUS Productions are no strangers to Wilmington theatre, so you can be guaranteed an exceptional night of entertainment. Please contact us if you have any questions. And, of course, enjoy the show!!!!

"Says the author of this gripping revue, 'it’s about one moment. It’s about hitting the wall and having to make a choice, or take a stand, or turn around and go back.' Newcomer Jason Robert Brown (composer-lyricist of the recent critical smash Parade) has the whole theatre community talking about his blend of savvy showmanship and exciting contemporary sound.
Brown transports his audience from the deck of a 1492 Spanish sailing ship to a ledge 57 stories above Fifth Avenue to meet a startling array of characters ranging from a young man who has determined that basket-ball is his ticket out of the ghetto to a woman whose dream of marrying rich nabs her the man of her dreams and a soulless marriage. These are the stories and characters of today, the songs for a new world.
With a small, powerhouse multi-ethnic cast and a driving, exquisitely crafted score running the gamut of today’s popular music, Songs For A New World is a great way to bring the next generation into the theatre. It’s a remarkable achievement from a remarkable new voice."
From MTI Shows.
Songs for a New World was Jason Robert Brown's first produced show, a musical revue in the mold of "Starting Here, Starting Now" and "Jacques Brel Is Alive And Well," directed by Daisy Prince with a spectacular cast featuring Andrea Burns, Brooks Ashmanskas, Jessica Molaskey and Billy Porter (who was unable to record the role, so Ty Taylor stepped in for the album and did a tremendous job). Since its debut at the WPA Theater in October 1995, the show has been produced hundreds of times all over the world, and its centerpiece song, "Stars and the Moon" has been recorded by countless wonderful singers including Audra McDonald, Karen Akers and Betty Buckley.
